Styled Shoot – Wadley Farms – Utah

Last year, I was lucky enough to win a free ticket to a Styled Shoots Across America event!  I saw an amazing styled shoot planned for a castle in Utah with shades of purples for the details. I fell in love with the location and colors and knew it was the shoot I wanted to go to!  Unfortunately, the styled shoot was rescheduled due to the pandemic. The new date was July 2021 and I started planning a trip around the date!  Then I found out that that styled shoot was getting turned into a shoot crawl. That means there are more models, different colors and details for each area, and hours of amazing photos to take!

My husband and I decided to fly into Southern Utah, visit the five National Parks, and end up just south of Salt Lake City for the Wadley Farm Styled Shoot. Wadley Farms is a castle venue right in the mountains. There are a handful of buildings on the property, and each of them are as amazing as the last. I love how the styled shoot coordinator used each space to feel like a different wedding day. It was very different than weddings in Fargo Moorhead, because obviously we don’t have castles and mountains!  I love styled shoots though because it really pushes my creativity!

Purple Styled Shoot

When this Styled Shoot was first shared, all the inspiration photos were filled with shades of purple!  I knew I had to go, because I absolutely love purple. As the styled shoot grew from a regular shoot into a styled shoot crawl, I was so happy to see the purple inspiration stayed.  I told my group of photographers all morning that I was the most excited for this part of the day.  However, when I saw the purple ceremony and reception areas, it was even better than I could have imagined!

The ceremony was set up out on the patio along the side of the castle. There was a gorgeous arch covered with florals as the focal point of the ceremony site. Then the intimate reception space was just beyond a set of doors, inside of the castle. It was a perfect set up, and I always love outdoor ceremonies with indoor receptions!  For real life weddings, it is perfect because of the unknown of weather on your wedding day. If it storms, you can move everything inside.  If it’s hot outside, everyone will be happy to go inside for dinner and dancing. Then if it’s the perfect day, your guests can move between the two spaces throughout the day and enjoy the fresh air!
