Styled Shoot – Wadley Farms – Utah

Last year, I was lucky enough to win a free ticket to a Styled Shoots Across America event!  I saw an amazing styled shoot planned for a castle in Utah with shades of purples for the details. I fell in love with the location and colors and knew it was the shoot I wanted to go to!  Unfortunately, the styled shoot was rescheduled due to the pandemic. The new date was July 2021 and I started planning a trip around the date!  Then I found out that that styled shoot was getting turned into a shoot crawl. That means there are more models, different colors and details for each area, and hours of amazing photos to take!

My husband and I decided to fly into Southern Utah, visit the five National Parks, and end up just south of Salt Lake City for the Wadley Farm Styled Shoot. Wadley Farms is a castle venue right in the mountains. There are a handful of buildings on the property, and each of them are as amazing as the last. I love how the styled shoot coordinator used each space to feel like a different wedding day. It was very different than weddings in Fargo Moorhead, because obviously we don’t have castles and mountains!  I love styled shoots though because it really pushes my creativity!

Pastel Styled Shoot

One of the most stunning parts of this styled shoot was the venue itself. Wadley Farms has a dreamy castle surrounded by mountains. It is the perfect spot for a fairytale wedding!  The main room inside the large wooden doors was decorated for the perfect wedding reception. Floral arraignments came down the staircase, covered the head table, and surrounded the four-tier cake. It was a stunning set up, perfect for the venue!  Everything was in light pastel shades, with plenty of blue, pink, and green. 

Just outside the large reception windows was an amazing view of the mountains. There are so many spaces around the venue that are perfect for bride and groom portraits. Between the light stone castle walls, the big wooden doors, and of course the mountains in the distant, you can create a lot of variety in one area!  This part of the styled shoot focused on the reception. However, I imagine the couple would get married outside in a sweet, intimate ceremony with the venue as a backdrop. Then, as the afternoon heat sets in, the celebration would move inside to the gorgeous reception area!
