Samuel & Eva – The Opal Event Center

Sam and Eva’s wedding day at The Opal Event Center finally arrived! I have known Sam since college and met Eva when they started dating. They are perfect for each other and it has been so sweet to see their relationship grow and be able to celebrate their wedding day with them.

These two got engaged at an escape room! Sam had planned a fun day with some friends and at the end of the escape room Eva opened the final safe. Inside there was an invite to their future wedding and Sam got down on one knee! It was such a fun and unique way to propose and they got to share it with some of their amazing friends!

There is something extra special about photographing a friend’s wedding day. Eva got ready at Sam’s family farm. They did the first look out in the yard and photos behind the house. Then they said their vows at the small town church before heading to Grand Forks for the reception! My favorite part of the day was much later though. We were walking back to the reception after sunset photos and the two of them stopped in a nearby parking lot to practice their first dance. They danced while the last of the sunset came through the trees. It was a quiet moment between just the two of them before heading back inside to do their official first dance!
