Hello there! My name is Alecs and I am so excited that you found my blog! Now it's time to cuddle up with your favorite furry friend, mine is my cat Goof, and start reading!
Looking for a place to get married in Fargo – Moorhead? Fargo may seem like a simple area with only a few venue options, but there are plenty of unique wedding venues in Fargo to choose from! From barns to ballrooms, you don’t have to look far to find your perfect venue! Here are eight of my favorite wedding venues in Fargo, ND and surrounding areas.
Sanctuary Event Center is a spacious venue in the heart of Downtown Fargo. They offer a creative solution for a one stop wedding venue. Wedding ceremonies are held upstairs in the breathtaking remodeled sanctuary. After the ceremony, dinner is served downstairs in a cozy intimate atmosphere. While dinner is served, the ceremony site is converted into the dance floor upstairs! Their transition is so seamless, your guests will never see a table being moved!

A Friend’s House is the perfect spot for a small town wedding feel. Located north of Moorhead, MN, A Friend’s House has plenty of space for a beautiful outdoor wedding. The venue is intimate with a gazebo and small chapel on the land. It is perfect for an outdoor wedding with plenty of space for all of your loved ones. Not to mention, the fields that surround the venue, giving the perfect view for those summer sunsets!

Oxbow Country Club is one of my favorite wedding venues in Fargo. Although, I am biased because it is where I got married! Located just south of Fargo, they have a beautiful new clubhouse with options for indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies. The new clubhouse is surrounded by the beautiful green golf course and bridges over the water. Only a golf cart ride away, you will find the older part of the course with huge trees and beautiful greenery, perfect for romantic photos. You also don’t need a membership to rent the space!

The Pines is one of the newest options for local wedding venues and is a gorgeous addition to the area. Located just south-east of Fargo, The Pines offers a large indoor wedding venue for both ceremonies and receptions. It is one of the few venues in the area that holds up to 400 guests in an air conditioned and heated building! It is perfect for large weddings year around.

If you are looking for a unique wedding venue, look no further than the Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead, MN. The Hjemkomst Center is one of my favorite indoor wedding reception options in the Fargo – Moorhead area. With features such as the full sized viking ship inside and the stave church outside, your guests will be amazed every direction they look! Not to mention, it is an affordable option as well!

The Avalon Events Center has something for everyone. They offer ballrooms that fit anywhere from an intimate 80 guests, all the way to a full party of over 500 guests! Whether your wedding will be big or small, they have space to fit everyone. The Avalon will give your wedding a high-end ballroom look, while still leaving plenty of room for your own personal touch! The Avalon also gets extra points because it’s one of the wedding venues in Fargo city limits. That makes it that much closer to hotels for your guests.

The Courtyard By Marriott is a great hotel ballroom option for a wedding! Their ballroom looks very high end and they provide some amazing decorations. They also have a bridal sweet that is perfect for getting ready. The biggest bonus of this venue is that your guests can book rooms and stay on site! The ballroom has a separate entrance from the hotel, but they are attached by a hallway. Your celebrate with stay intimate while providing your guests a good reason to stay until the night is over!

Fargo is part of North Dakota, which is a large farming state. However, Fargo is just across the river from Minnesota, and of course, Minnesota is known for its lakes! It may seem intimidating to pick from the 10,000 lakes in Minnesota, but there is an easy choice just outside of the Fargo area. The Holiday Inn Lakefront in Detroit Lakes, MN is the perfect lakeside wedding venue. You can get married on the lakeside dock and your guests rest their toes in the sand!

Carlos Creek Winery may not be located in the Fargo area, but it is worth the drive! Once you see Carlos Creek Winery, you won’t think twice about the drive from Fargo, ND. The winery has the perfect outdoor wedding ceremony site under a canopy of tall trees. After enjoying the summer air, your guests can party the night away inside their reception hall. This venue is worth the visit before crossing it off your list!
