Hello there! My name is Alecs and I am so excited that you found my blog! Now it's time to cuddle up with your favorite furry friend, mine is my cat Goof, and start reading!
In almost every situation pockets are amazing. Ladies love when dresses have pockets. Guys don’t have to carry a purse because of their pockets! However, when it comes to wedding photography, pockets are not great. At the beginning of every photo session I give a friendly reminder. It’s time to empty your pockets. It may seem like a little thing, but you can see every phone, every set of keys, every tube of lipstick that is hiding in a pocket. You will definitely notice these things when your photos are delivered!
I understand that it is not always possible to leave these things behind. On your wedding day, leave your phone and belongings with your personal attendant or trusted bridal party member. For engagement photos, leave your phone at home or even in the car. Trust me, you won’t need your phone anyways! These are two perfect times to be free of your phones and to enjoy the company of your significant other. As for the car keys, ask your photographer to hold them. Just make sure you get your belongings back at the end of the session!
So, you and your significant other now have free pockets. Here comes the tricky part, the bridal party. Between selfies, texting, and the internet, your bridal party will have their phones with them on your wedding day. It is actually good that at least someone has their phone! You will need it in case someone is lost, a bouquet is missing, or you need a bottle of water. The easiest solution to this is to have your personal attendant or any member of the bridal party bring a bag, box, or any container. At the start of photos, have everyone empty their pockets into the container. Everyone’s pockets are now picture-perfect and their belongings are safe!
This isn’t just for couple and wedding photography! High School seniors and families have pockets as well. Make sure your senior and family members clear their pockets for photos!
