Unique Wedding at The Red River Zoo – Fargo, ND

The sun was shining and the camels were out exploring.  Nearby, the otters were swimming and the dance floor was full. Everyone was out celebrating Alex and Krista’s marriage!  Alex and Krista picked the perfect summer day for their wedding. They got married at a beautiful church in town, which was also where both Krista’s mother and grandmother were married!  Then we all headed to the zoo to celebrate among the animals. Krista and Alex picked the perfect venue for their unique wedding at the Red River Zoo. Their guests took photos on the carousal, explored the zoo, and danced the night away on the patio!

Krista and Alex have such a sweet and loving relationship. They make each other laugh like everything is their own inside joke!  Alex and Krista visited Fargo in February, which very well may be the coldest month to visit! They set up a fun couple session with a former coworker. It was -10 degrees out and Krista and Alex were freezing in downtown Fargo. They decided to go up in the skywalk to warm up and as the photographer started to pose them, Alex got down on one knee and pulled out the ring box. Krista started laughing hysterically, but of course said yes!

One of my favorite parts of Alex and Krista’s wedding day was watching them during their first dance. Most couples pick a slow, romantic song and hold each other close while dancing. Alex and Krista, however, picked an upbeat fun song and danced like they were they only two people at the zoo. They laughed, made faces at each other, and sang along!  It was great seeing how much fun these two have when they are together. Their family and friends surrounded them on the dance floor and smiled, laughed, and also sang along through the entire first dance. It was the perfect start to an evening of celebration!
