Summer Sunset Engagement Session at McElroy Park – Jamestown, ND

It was such a beautiful night for a summer sunset engagement session!  Phil contacted me a few weeks before their wedding asking if there was anyway we could sneak in a last minute engagement session.  Sarah & Phil have spent almost their entire relationship long distance and between that and the pandemic, they never had a chance to take engagement photos! Phil arrived in Bismarck Wednesday afternoon after a long drive from Texas, picked up Sarah, and they drove to meet me in Jamestown. They had not seen each other in person for almost six weeks! What a better way to celebrate being together again than engagement photos. Not to mention, it gave them a break from last minute wedding planning since we took these photos just two days before their wedding!

Phil and Sarah met at a graduation ceremony in South Dakota. Phil was there to celebrate his sister graduating, and Sarah and her BHSU FOCUS Missionary Team were there to see their teammate’s sister graduate. Sarah and her team just happened to sit directly in front of Phil and his family! Phil started talking to Sarah and his parents invited the entire team back to their ranch. Sarah and Phil exchanged phone numbers and they started texting! Texting turned to calling, which then turned to Skype calls and even Skype dates.  They talked for hours and traveled to see each other whenever they could. Now their long distance is finally coming to an end because they are getting married!
