Clear Sky Fall Wedding Day at DECC – Duluth, MN

Ellen and Josh had the perfect fall wedding in Duluth, MN. There was a clear blue sky all day, a light breeze, and even the perfect temperature for outside photos!  We started at the Beacon Pointe hotel and found an amazing spot for their first look with Lake Superior in the background. Afterwards, we went went to a nearby park for more photos, including some right down on the rocks by the lake. Ellen had the perfect flowy dress for the lake winds and the sun even made Lake Superior sparkle behind them!

Ellen and Josh met their junior year of college at the University of Minnesota Duluth. They were both in marching band, and Ellen was one of Josh’s section leaders for the year. They started to get to know each other and soon became friends!  Just before their senior year started, Josh and Ellen decided to venture into Wisconsin for a show. Ellen’s car broke down though and stranded them in Northern Wisconsin! While they waited for the tow truck, they were able to spend plenty of quality time together on the side of the road. They started dating a few months later, got engaged, and now are happily married!

I have known Ellen and Josh for a few years now, because they are part of our board game friend group! My husband and I love spending time with them, and that only made their wedding day more special to photograph! It was amazing to see them wipe tears away during their first look, help each other onto the rocks down by the water for photos, and say their vows at their ceremony.  They are a fun and sweet couple and had such a supportive and loving group of guest there to celebrate their marriage. Between the beautiful speeches by their best man and maid of honor, to their guests singing love songs to them during the reception, it was clear to see how much everyone loves these two!
