Hello there! My name is Alecs and I am so excited that you found my blog! Now it's time to cuddle up with your favorite furry friend, mine is my cat Goof, and start reading!
Kaylen and Ian had the perfect June day for their summer wedding at A Friend’s House! Well, it was perfect once the severe thunderstorm was gone. All week the forecast was showing highs in the 90’s with extreme heat warnings. That’s a little warm for an outdoor wedding, but it’s doable! Then the morning of the wedding was finally here and the air was thick. I took the dress out for photos and struggled to keep my camera lens clear from fogging up. While I was taking detail photos, the thunder started. I quickly took the dress inside and checked the radar.
Our sunny, 90 degree day, was being threatened by a large thunderstorm! At first it looked like it would miss us, then it grew and we were right in its path. We spent the next hour sheltering in the reception location, watching the rain and wind, and practicing our dance moves for that evening. Thankfully, the storm passed and the team at A Friend’s House got to work making everything perfect in time for the ceremony.
Through all of the craziness with the weather, this beautiful bride stayed calm! We threw the timeline out the window, and used every minute we had before the ceremony. These two were already pro models during their engagement session, so I knew their wedding would be a breeze! And of course, once they saw each other during the first look, nothing else mattered. All the stress and uncertainty of the morning was gone and this couple was ready to get married. As the bride walked down the aisle, the clouds cleared and the sun started to shine. It was suddenly the perfect June day for an outdoor wedding at A Friend’s House.
Kaylen and Ian met in college through Cru, a campus ministry group. The obviously hit if off and started dating! Then, Ian came up with the sweetest idea for the proposal. He took Kaylen to the Hotel Donaldson in Downtown Fargo for a romantic rooftop dinner. Ian and a HoDo chef prepared a special five course meal for Kaylen. That’s when Ian popped the question and Kaylen said yes! Isn’t there anything more romantic than a rooftop dinner??
Congratulations again Kaylen & Ian!
Time for a hair and make-up break to check the weather situation!
The only thing better than a dress with pockets, is a wedding dress with pockets!!
