Rainy Engagement Session at Riverfront Park – Moorhead, MN

Katlyn and Shawn are getting married at RiverHaven Event Center and wanted to use the park behind RiverHaven for their engagement session.  Riverfront Park is a beautiful park along the Red River with tall trees and a walking bridge that crosses over to Oak Grove Park in Fargo, ND. When these two get married, their ceremony will overlook the very spot they took their engagement photos!  It is such a fun idea to use the same area for their engagement photos that they will be getting married at. It makes RiverHaven and the park even more special for them!

The forecast looked a little scary leading up to the session with rain on and off that day. However, it looked like we would have a few hour break between the morning rain and the evening thunderstorm. We started taking photos and halfway through the session we started hearing thunder. It was getting louder and louder, until it was right on top of us!  We had a few more photos to take, but Mother Nature had other ideas. It suddenly started to downpour!  I put on my rain jacket and had Katlyn and Shawn tuck under a tree for cover. Thankfully we were able to finish their photos while they stayed dry under the tree!

Shawn proposed to Katlyn when they were on a road trip on his motorcycle. They weren’t able to get any photos of the proposal, so they wanted to recreate it at their engagement session!  Shawn brought his motorcycle and a ring box and was ready to get down on one knee! I love that they wanted to recreate their proposal for a photo. Now they have photos to remember the sweet moment Katlyn said yes to marrying Shawn!
