Hello there! My name is Alecs and I am so excited that you found my blog! Now it's time to cuddle up with your favorite furry friend, mine is my cat Goof, and start reading!
It was finally time for Danae and Connor’s big wedding day! I remember emailing Danae in March 2020 about her June 2020 wedding. I was sure the pandemic would not affect her wedding day, but wanted to check in. Everything seemed fine at that point! Then, things started moving quickly and by mid-April Danae and Connor were working on plan B. Then May rolled around, and their entire wedding plan had been turned upside down. No matter how crazy things got though, these two kept calm and knew getting married was the most important part of their wedding. They kept their original date and went from a large wedding near the twin cities, to a very small intimate wedding in Danae’s hometown. It was a beautiful ceremony and Danae and Connor got to start their married lives together! However, they still wanted to be able to celebrate with everyone!
Danae and Connor made the safe move and pushed their big wedding out a full year. That way they could do a vow renewal on their (almost) one year anniversary, and celebrate with all of their loved ones! Changing wedding plans so many times is stressful, however it worked out very well for these two. Restrictions in Minnesota were lifted just shortly before their 2021 wedding day and everyone was so happy to be able to get together safely and see one another! It was a great party and you could tell everyone is ready to get together again.
Another upside of planning a vow renewal celebration? Danae was not only able to wear her stunning wedding dress once, but three times! She wore it to her small wedding in June 2020, again in their winter for a bride and groom photo session, and then one more time for the big June 2021 wedding! Most brides wish they could wear their dress more than once!
I am so happy for Danae and Connor! I met Danae in college, and it has been so much fun knowing her over the years. It has been amazing to be able to photograph her engagement session, her twin sister’s wedding, her bride and groom photos, and now her wedding day! After the anniversary dance, Danae and Connor were talking with the couple who have been married the longest. When the couple told them it had been over 35 years, Danae turned to Connor and said, “Someday” and smiled at her new husband.
Congratulations again Danae and Connor!
Since most of the photos were taken at the mother of the groom’s house, Danae and Connor’s pup was able to join in on the fun! He of course had to be in a few photos too. He is the sweetest dog!
